Pat Tocaciu

Patrick Tocaciu is the winemaker behind the Patrick T label. Wherever Patrick T goes, a fine reputation for quality wine will follow.

Born in Mount Gambier, in 1969 Pat moved to Adelaide to play football for North Adelaide Football Club. After studying Oenology at Roseworthy, Patrick’s wine making career commenced in the Barossa Valley. Thirty six years have passed and Pat is now a very successful and well respected wine maker who has worked as Chief Wine Maker for many high profile wine companies.

He has continued his journey into Coonawarra now producing his own wine label using his extensive knowledge and his own grapes. Pat’s classically presented premium wines are the fruit of his 30 year vision that became reality in April 2004.

Rex Hutchison

Viticulturalist Rex Hutchison has great affinity with the land and uses biodynamic techniques in the vineyards. He ensures that best quality practice is environmentally sustainable by applying valuable compost made from grape marc, thus returning valuable nutrients to the soil. Rex produces grapes using quality assured methods for Pat to create outstanding wines.

Coonawarra and Wrattonbully

The 1998, 2000 and 2001 Home Block Cabernet Sauvignon is Pat’s own hand crafted product of the single, two-hectare vineyard that surrounds his home in Coonawarra. The 40 year old vineyard of 3406 vines produces between 1 – 2kg of fruit per vine, eventuating in 300 to 700 dozen bottles of fine wine. In making this wine, Pat uses traditional open fermenters, barrel fermentation and extended maturation in new French oak barriques.

The World Heritage Naracoorte Caves in South Australia are part of the rich, limestone fossil beds that lie directly under the dunes where "Joanna" vines are growing. This wine region named Wrattonbully is home to "Joanna" Riesling, Shiraz and Rosè.
